Stars come together for NBC’s Sandy relief telethon

NBC will host a special benefit concert telethon tonight for the the victims of Hurricane Sandy featuring an all-star cast. Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi of New Jersey and Billy Joel of Long Island, two of the areas most affected by the devastating hurricane, are scheduled to perform. Joining them will be Aersomith, Christina Aguilera and Sting.

“Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together” will air at 8 p.m. on each of the networks of NBCUniversal including NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA. Hosted by “Today” show co-host Matt Lauer, proceeds from the telethon will benefit the American Red Cross. Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams will also make appearances.

The Red Cross is providing shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by disasters like Hurricane Sandy. To donate, visit RedCross.org, call 1-800-HELPNOW or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
