Bright Eyes to hit New England in August

, Staff

Led by Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes will make their way to New England later this summer in support of their latest album, The People’s Key. As part of the tour, the indie rock favorites will play shows in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

On Sunday, August 28, Bright Eyes will perform at Mountain Park in Northampton with Titus Andronicus. Tickets for the show are now on sale through NBOTickets for $30. The band will then hit Providence, Rhode Island for a show at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel with  Dr. Dog. Tickets for the show are now on sale through eTix for $30 and $36.50.

The People’s Key, Bright Eyes’ seventh full-length studio effort, was released in February (fittingly on on Oberst’s birthday). Moving away a little bit from its folksy nature and turning more towards rock, the album was recorded in Omaha, Nebraska at ARC Studios and produced by the group’s own Mike Mogis. The 10-song debuted at #13 on the Billboard 200.

Originally founded by Oberst, Bright Eyes is rounded out by since permanent members Mogis and Nate Walcott, along with a host of touring musicians.
