Cambridge will welcome a brand new a live-music venue and restaurant this fall when The Sinclair opens in Harvard Square. The new club, which will accommodate 525 people and plans to host 200 shows annually, will be operated through a joint venture between The Bowery Presents and Chef Michael Schlow.

The Sinclair, which will be located at 52 Church Street in the heart of Harvard Square, will ne open seven days a week and seat 104 people in its restaurant. Designed and built by Boston-based Tribeca Builders, The Sinclair will feature two dining spaces and a seasonal patio, separated from the live-music venue by its own entrance. The music venue will include a wraparound mezzanine level, complete with its own bar area. Upon the opening, The Sinclair will have a permanent box office where no-fee tickets will be sold for all current and upcoming shows.

The Bowery Presents, an independent promotion company based in New York City, opened a Boston branch in 2010 and is primarily known for its bookings at Royale in the theater district. Schlow has been recognized as one of the best chefs in America and operates six restaurants in New England.

No official opening date has been announced but The Sinclair already has a dozen shows scheduled representing a variety of genres. The first scheduled show will take place on Tuesday, October 30 and feature The Meter Men with Page McConnell (of Phish). Other highlights include K’Naan, Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Roky Erickson, Barefoot Truth, Converge and Chadwick Stokes. Tickets for each of the scheduled shows will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster. The complete schedule with ticket prices is available below.

“We are excited to open The Sinclair in such a historic, dynamic neighborhood,” said Jim Glancy of The Bowery Presents in a press release. “The Bowery Presents has evolved over the years – from promoting concerts in small, intimate venues to arenas, amphitheaters and beyond. To build a venue in Boston, typically we would have retrofitted something in an existing space. For this project, we are taking the lessons that we’ve learned from our previous endeavors and creating The Sinclair with the best experience in mind for concert patrons and artists. We can’t wait to share it with the citizens of Cambridge and the Boston area.”

“The Bowery Presents has based the core of its business on highlighting a wide cross section of great music while delivering first-class hospitality to both artists and guests, which will continue at The Sinclair,” added Josh Bhatti of The Bowery Presents: Boston. “Having lived in the Boston area my whole life, I am ecstatic to be a part of bringing what I truly believe will be the best music venue to my hometown. Working with Michael Schlow and his team has been great, and we plan to launch a restaurant that will be a destination and a welcome addition to the neighborhood.”

“Getting involved with The Sinclair and The Bowery Presents, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to combine two of my favorite things: food and music”, declared Michael Schlow. “I’m always looking for new and exciting ways to incorporate music into my restaurants, and this project takes the music side to a whole new level. Music is inextricably linked to the dining experience and I’m excited to be part of The Sinclair. I think this is going to be great for Harvard Square and for Boston.”
