After a fun scavenger hunt through the city last night, organizers for the Boston Calling Music Festival have announced the official lineup for the event this May. Jack Johnson, Death Cab For Cutie and Modest Mouse will headline the festival scheduled for May 23 to 25 at City Hall Plaza in Boston.

Other notable acts set to perform Boston Calling include Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Tegan and Sara, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, Brand New, The Head and the Heart, Bastille, Jenny Lewis and Built To Spill. Americana stomp band TigermanWOAH! and synth rockers Magic Man will bring a local flair to the festival, which is rounded out by The Neighbourhood, Phosphorescent, Kurt Vile and The Violators, Walk off the Earth, Warpaint, Cass McCombs, Maximo Park and The Districts. Organizers also plan to add an additional headliner-level act in the coming weeks.

Boston Calling, the city’s first multi-day outdoor music festival, launched in 2013 with May and September editions. As it was last year, 2014’s lineup was curated by Aaron Dessner of The National in collaboration with Boston Calling producers Crash Line Productions and Bowery Boston.

“I was thrilled to curate the line-up for the second year in a row,” declared Dessner in a press release. “Having performed at Boston Calling in May 2013, I can say from experience that playing the festival is electric and we couldn’t be happier with the amazing group of artists who will perform at Boston Calling this year.”

“Everyone involved loves working on this festival, and shares a singular goal of making it a great experience for the fans,” added Crash Line Productions co-founder Brian Appel. “Drawing crowds from across the country and giving people the chance to see some of the most incredible artists in the world in downtown Boston has been a privilege.”

This year, Boston Calling has expanded to three days with a concert on Friday night set to kick off the festival. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival will take place across two stages with no overlapping sets. The schedule for each day will be announced at a later date.

Boston Calling will conduct a special pre-sale for three day General Admission and VIP passes will open this Wednesday  at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. A limited number of general admission 3-Day passes will be sold for $150 and VIP 3-Day passes for $250. General admission and VIP single day tickets for the Friday evening performance ($50, $150), as well as 2-Day general admission and VIP passes ($135, $350) and 3-Day general admission and VIP passes ($175, $375) will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.
