Gentlemen Hall to perform on Billboard Music Awards

Gentlemen Hall, one of Boston Music Spotlight‘s “Eleven Artists to Watch in 2011”, will perform on stage onstage at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas tonight. The Boston favorites earned the spot after winning the Billboard & Chevy’s Battle of the Bands earlier this week in Las Vegas. The Billboard Music Awards will air live tonight on ABC at 8 p.m., with Gentlemen Hall rumored to perform around 10:20.

On Wednesday night, Gentlemen Hall won the Battle of the Bands at Las Vegas’ Fremont Street Experience. The band we00re selected by a panel of judges featuring Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath and other music industry experts, over five other competing bands from across the country: California’s Rafael, Washington’s Hotels, Texas’ Otenki, North Carolina’s Side By Side and Michigan’s Lightning Love.

“I don’t know what just happened! It doesn’t seem real,” Gentlemen Hall’s Seth Hachen told Billboard.com after winning the battle.

The six competing bands at the Battle were selected by Billboard.com readers from a pool of 18 acts found via BillboardPro’s Heat Score index and Billboard editorial staff. Gentlemen Hall won the Northeast regional over fellow Boston rockers The Cinnamon Fuzz and New York City’s Appomattox. The six finalists from around the country hit the highway the week of May 9, in vehicles provided by Chevy and with a video crew in tow, to document the trip to Vegas.
