Bonnie Raitt has revealed plans to return to the road in support of her latest release, Slipstream. Joined by special guest Marc Cohn, the veteran blues rocker will hit Boston for a performance at the Oprheum Theatre on Sunday, November 17. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $50 to $90, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Slipstream, Raitt’s sixteenth studio release and first in seven years, was released in April of 2012 and won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album in February. The 12-track album features four songs recorded with producer Joe Henry (Allen Toussaint, Solomon Burke) and his musicians, while the remainder of the album is self-produced with her touring band. Special guests Bill Frisell, Al Anderson, Maia Sharp and Paul Brady also make appearances on the album. Slipstream features a handful of covers and is led by a reinvented “reggae-fied” version of Gerry Rafferty’s hit “Right Down The Line”, which serves as the album’s lead single.

On the upcoming tour, Raitt will be accompanied by her longtime touring band of James “Hutch” Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums) and George Marinelli (guitar), with the new addition of Mike Finnigan (Joe Cocker, CSN, Etta James, Jimi Hendrix) on keyboards.
