Blondie is back with a brand new album, Panic of Girls, and have revealed plans for a tour in support of the new release. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will hit Massachusetts for a show at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on Wednesday, September 14. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $50.

Panic of Girls, the group’s ninth studio effort and first since 2003’s The Curse of Blondie, was released digitally earlier this year. A proper physical release is scheduled to hit stores on September 13. Largely inspired by New York City and its many facets, the new release is a collaboration between producers Jeff Saltzman (the Killers, Fischerspooner) and Kato Khandwala (Paramore, Papa Roach) and features everything from new wave dance music to reggae and pop with even some songs sung in French and Spanish. The video for lead single “Mother”, which references the West 14th Street nightclub by the same name, is streaming below.

On the upcoming tour, the late ’70s/early ‘80s favorites promise to showcase new material along with many of the greatest hits from their 37-year career. Led by original members Debbie Harry, Clem Burke and Chris Stein, Blondie is rounded out by newer bandmates Leigh Foxx, Tommy Kessler and Matt Katz-Bohen.
