Blitzen Trapper will team up with Dawes for a six-week tour that will begin and end in California. The co-headliners will make their way to Massachusetts and hit Boston’s Royale Nightclub for a show on Friday, October 28. Tickets for the show, which will also feature openers The Belle Brigade, are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20.

To celebrate the tour, the two bands have compiled a six-song digital EP comprised of three previously released songs from each band. The EP can be downloaded for free below.

Blitzen Trapper will be touring in support of their forthcoming album, American Goldwing. The album, the Portland, Oregon-based band’s sixth full-length studio release and followup to last year’s Destroyer of the Void, is scheduled to drop in stores on September 13 via Sub Pop Records. Earlier this month, Blitzen Trapper released American Goldwing’s lead single “Love The Way You Walk Away”. Fans can download the track for free on the band’s website.

Dawes released their sophomore album, Nothing Is Wrong, in June. The Los Angeles-based band, who recently made a surprise appearance at the Newport Folk Festival, are currently on the road supporting Alison Krauss & Union Station. They were also recently hand-picked by Robbie Robertson (The Band) and Jackson Browne to serve the backing band for their respective projects; performing with Robertson on some special TV performances and with Browne on a recent European tour.

“They’re really good and they’re a band – it’s different than just getting a bunch of individual musicians and trying to make them click and blend,” said Robertson in a press release. “They’re all at the top of their game…they know what works. I appreciate a young band with a broad horizon. Dawes is that in spaces.”

Browne added, “Dawes are an incredible young band. Their singer, Taylor Goldsmith, is a brilliant songwriter with very hip lyrics. He and his brother Griffin have one of those great familial harmony blends. You can’t mention a record that these guys haven’t listened to.”
