Blake Shelton has revealed plans for a summer tour in support of his brand new album, Based on a True Story. The reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year will bring his “Ten Times Crazier” tour to Massachusetts for a night at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Saturday, September 7. Opening the show will be rising country stars Easton Corbin and Jana Kramer. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $32.50 to $62.25, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

Based on a True Story…, Shelton’s seventh studio release and follow-up to 2011’s Red River Blue, debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart after its release last month. It features singles “Sure Be Cool If You Did” (video is streaming below) and “Boys ‘Round Here” (with the Pistol Annies).

“I just think that every song on the album, I’ve either been in those situations before or I’m going through ’em right now,” explained Shelton in an interview with Yahoo earlier this year. “There’s songs like ‘Doing What She Likes’ and ‘Ten Times Crazier’ that are kind of where I’m at right now. There’s a song called ‘Granddaddy’s Gun’; I actually have my granddad’s gun…. And so I listened to it and finally thought, ‘Man, it kind of is my life, from start to finish.’ I thought, ‘That’s just what we’ll call it — we’ll just say it’s based on a true story’.”

Shelton is currently starring on the fourth season of NBC’s hit singing competition, “The Voice”. He has served as the winning coach for the past two seasons with Jermaine Paul winning season two and Cassadee Pope winning season three.

Prior to the show in Massachusetts, Shelton will perform at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut on Friday, September 6. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $29.75 to $59.50, are now on sale through Live Nation.
