Billy Idol to play the House of Blues

Bill Idol has revealed plans for stateside tour that will begin in August and make its way to Massachusetts in September. The British rock icon will play the House of Blues in Boston on Tuesday, September 14. Tickets, which are priced at $37 and $49.50, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

With no new album to support, fans can expect to hear Idol play all his classic hits. Idol’s last album of new material was 2005’s Devil’s Playground. In 2008, he released the career-spanning compilation, The Very Best Of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself. Most recently, in 2009, Idol released his first live concert DVD “In Super Overdrive Live” (filmed at the Congress Theatre in Chicago).

For this tour, Idol will be joined by his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, Stephen McGrath on bass and Derek Sherinian on keyboards as well as his recently announced new bandmates: acclaimed guitarist Billy Morrison (of The Cult) and drummer Jeremy Colson (of Steve Vai’s band).
