Billy Currington has announced plans for the release of a new album and subsequent tour. The country star will hit Massachusetts for an intimate performance at the House of Blues in Boston on Saturday, September 14. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for $39.50 and $49.50.

We Are Tonight, Currington’s fifth studio effort and follow-up to 2010’s Enjoy Yourself, will be released on September 17. Along with lead single “Hey Girl”, the new album includes a cover of Jack Johnson’s “Banana Pancakes” and a duet with Willie Nelson on “It’s Hard to Be a Hippie”.

The Georgia native worked with three producers on We Are Tonight including longtime collaborator Carson Chamberlain, as well as Dann Huff and Shy Carter.

“This album is the first time that I have ever worked with three different producers,” explained Currington in a press release. “It wasn’t planned, but just kind of happened that way. It was a great experience to be able to bring a different sound to this album and I hope the fans love it as much as I do.”
