Billy Bragg will embark on stateside tour next week in support of his brand new album, Tooth & Nail. The British singer-songwriter will hit Boston for a show at the Berklee Performance Center on Sunday, April 28. Tickets for the show are available through the venue’s box office and website for $31.50 and $36.50. Australian singer-songwriter Kim Churchill will open the show.

Released last week, Tooth & Nail is Bragg’s thirteenth studio effort and first since 2008’s Pressure Drop. Recorded across five days with producer Joe Henry at his basement studio in Pasadena, California last year. For the first time since his 1983 debut Life’s a Riot With Spy Vs. Spy, Bragg recorded the album live, without overdubs. Assisting with the recording of Tooth & Nail were Greg Leisz (Bon Iver) on pedal steel guitar, Patrick Warren (Lana del Rey) on keyboards, Jay Bellerose (Regina Spektor) on drums and David Piltch (Ramblin’ Jack Elliot) on upright bass.

“In 2011, I took a long, hard look at who I am and what I do,” said Bragg in a press release. “This album is the result.”

Tooth & Nail is available in a variety of formats, including a special limited edition CD+DVD Bookpack, featuring the CD, a 36 page booklet containing exclusive photos and a collection of columns written by Billy originally published in Q magazine between 2008 and 2011, plus a DVD of 10 promotional videos that Billy Bragg made for his singles between 1986 and 2002.
