Somebody lock up Kanye West because Beyoncé are Taylor Swift are getting ready for a showdown at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, January 31 in Los Angeles. The nominations were revelaed last night and the R&B diva led with ten via I Am… Sasha Fierce, while the country-pop sensation earned eight for Fearless.

The Black Eye Peas, Kanye West and Maxwell followed with six nominations. Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and producer David Guetta earned five nominations while Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban, Kings Of Leon Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino John Newton, T-Pain and producer RedOne each received four nominations.

Beyoncé and Swift will face off against one another in the top three categories of Album, Record and Song of the Year, as well as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The other Album of the Year nominees are Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D., Lady Gaga’s The Fame, and Dave Matthews Band’s Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King. Surprisingly absent were two of rock’s biggest releases of the year in U2’s No Line on the Horizon and Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown. Both did earn nominations in Rock Album of the Year. The Best New Artist nominees are Zac Brown Band, Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups and the Ting Tings.

A partial list of nominees is available below. For the complete list of nominees, go here.

The nominations were announced last night during a primetime special held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. LL Cool J hosted the event, which included performances from The Black Eyed Peas, Sugarland, Maxwell, and Nick Jonas and the Administration.

The winners will be announced during the 52nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony to be held on Sunday, January 31 and broadcast live on CBS from the Nokia Theatre. The ceremony is being held earlier in the year than usual due to the Olympics. By moving the ceremony, organizer were forced to shorten the year’s eligibility period. All nominees were based on releases prior to August 31, 2009 rather than the traditional September 30. Albums released during that period will now be eligible for next year’s awards.
