Best Coast have revealed plans for a series of headlining dates on the East Coast this summer tour. The surf-pop band will make their way to Boston for a show at Royale on Thursday, June 6. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for $20.

The summer tour, which will take place between appearances at the Hangout Music Festival in Alabama and the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York, will continue the band’s promotion of their latest album, The Only Place. Released last summer, the band second studio album and follow-up to their 2010 debut Crazy for You.

Consistent with their prior releases, Bethany Cosentino handles all songwriting and rhythm guitar while multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno provided lead guitar, bass and drums on The Only Place. The album’s title track, which also serves as the album’s lead single, and album art is inspired by Cosentino’s home state of California. The video for The Only Place‘s second single “Do You Love Me Like You Used To” is streaming below.

For Record Store Day on April 20, Best Coast will release a limited edition 7″ vinyl featuring two new tracks, “Fear Of My Identity” and “Who Have I Become”. Both tracks were recorded with producer Wally Gagel (Tanya Donnely, Juliana Hatfield).

Best Coast will soon join Green Day on the road and open both of the band’s upcoming New England dates at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on April 6 and the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on April 9.
