After the release of his brand new album Get Up! with Charlie Musselwhite, Ben Harper has revealed plans to perform a series of special live concerts with the renowned harmonica player. The duo will make their way to Massachusetts and host “An Evening of Blues” at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on Saturday, May 4. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $39.50 to $79.50, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

“Charlie and I have been looking to make this record for over ten years and now that we’ve gotten to it, I can’t wait to play it live,” stated Harper in a press release.

“Ben and I really locked in, personally and musically, when we recorded with John Lee Hooker,” added Musselwhite. “Ever since then we wanted to record together and being in the studio together is just a natural. You can hear it and feel it in the music on Get Up!

Released last week, Get Up! is Harper’s 12th studio effort and first new recording since 2011’s Give Till It’s Gone. The album, which was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Harper, is comprised of ten tracks written or co-written by Harper. Alongside Musselwhite, Harper (vocals, guitar and slide guitar) is backed by Jason Mozersky (guitar), Jesse Ingalls (bass) and Jordan Richardson (drums).
