Beirut to play Boston in August

Beirut will hit Massachusetts next month as part of their ongoing summer tour in support of their latest release, The Rip Tide. The New Mexico natives will hit Boston for a show at the House of Blues on Tuesday, August 28. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $27.50 and $40.

The Rip Tide, the band’s third studio album, was released last August through Pompeii Records, a label created and owned by Beirut’s Francis Condon. The album was recorded in upstate New York and the band’s hometowns of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Rip Tide, which was co-produced by Condon and Griffin Rodriguez, marks the band’s first full-length release since 2007’s The Flying Club Cup. The video for the song’s title track is streaming below.

“The concept fit, and the product brought the song somewhere that I had only been able to describe to myself, now available for others to see and feel it much more as I had in the process of writing it,” said Condon of the Houmam Abdallah directed video in a press release.
