B.B. King to hit New England in September

B.B. King will soon return to the road for a late summer outing that will hit New England for multiple shows in September.

The legendary blues guitarist will play a pair of shows in Massachusetts. He’ll first perform at the newly renovated North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly on Thursday, September 1. Tickets for the show are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website for $74 and $64. King will also hit the Zeiterion Theatre in New Bedford on Sunday, September 4. Tickets for show, which will also feature special guest opener Eli “Paperboy” Reed, are available through the venue’s box office and website for $60 to $85.

Other New England dates include New Hampshire’s Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on Friday, September 2 and Maine’s Bangor Waterfront Pavilion on Saturday, September 3.

It is his second tour across Europe in as many years, King has been busy touring and playing venues in Prague, Budapest, London and Paris along with a visit to the Glastonbury Festival. He’ll return to the United States next month and begin his latest tour in Nevada. King’s last studio recording, One Kind Favor, was released in 2008. Produced by T-Bone Burnett and featuring John Lee Hooker, it won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album.
