Band of Horses announce special acoustic tour

Band of Horses have revealed plans for a special acoustic outing next year. The Seattle-based indie rockers will make their way to Massachusetts for a night at the Somerville Theatre on Tuesday, February 25. Tickets for the show will go on sale Monday at noon through Ticketmaster for $35.

The tour will follow the release of Acoustic at The Ryman, which is scheduled to hit stores on February 11. The album features a 10-song virtual greatest hits set of acoustic renditions of songs from across the Band of Horses catalog, recorded at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium over two nights in April 2013. In addition to standard digital and CD versions, Acoustic at The Ryman will be available on 180 Gram Vinyl as well as a high quality 24-bit 96k WAV version.

“The game plan was to keep it wild and expressive like the show while capturing it with highest resolution available,” said bassist Bill Reynolds in a press release. “The electricity in The Ryman was off the charts. If that makes it to the listener, then we’ll consider this a success.”

Band of Horses last studio release was 2012’s Mirage Rock.
