Badly Drawn Boy has revealed plans for a stateside tour that will bring him to Boston in December. The English singer-songwriter, whose real name is Damon Gough, will play the Paradise Rock Club on Wednesday, December 1. Tickets for the 18+ show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $20. Justin Jones will open the show.

Hitting the road for his first tour in three years, Badly Drawn Boy will be promoting his new release It’s What I’m Thinking Pt.1 – Photographing Snowflakes. Released last month, the album is his seventh studio offering and the first of a proposed trilogy of albums.

Penning the soundtrack to last year’s Caroline Aherne film “The Fattest Man in Britain” sparked a period of unprecedented creativity for Gough, resulting in a wealth of new songs. “I’ve got such a wealth of ideas I want to work on,” explains Gough in a press released. “and intrinsically, as a creative person, you don’t want to switch off the flow of ideas, because that’s what keeps you ticking.”

As for the name of the trilogy, Gough explains, “It’s just a wry comment on the fact that that’s all I’m doing, just writing the songs, and within the songs is what I’m thinking”.
