Avicii to launch arena tour at Boston’s TD Garden

Avicii has revealed plans for a stateside tour this spring. The EDM superstar will launch the “#TRUETOUR” North American tour in Boston with a performance at the TD Garden on Thursday, April 10. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $16.50 to $86, will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster.

For the upcoming tour, Avicii is promising a brand new stage production. He’ll be promoting his debut full-length studio album, True. Released in September, it debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200, which marked, the highest studio album debut in Soundscan history for a solo EDM artist, It also reached the top ten in 17 other countries. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and Stockholm, where Avicii collaborated with an eclectic group of artists including Aloe Blacc, Michael Einziger (of Incubus), bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski (of Alison Krauss and Union Station), Nile Rodgers (of Chic) and country music legend Mac Davis.

“This album really changed the way I think, the way I see music,” explained Avicii in a press release. “I worked with all these people from different genres. They all bring their own influences into my work and it’s so interesting to hear what comes out.”

True has been powered by smash hit “Wake Me Up” (featuring Blacc) and follow-up singles “You Make Me” (featuring Salem Al Fakir) and “Hey Brother” (featuring Tyminski). The video for “Hey Brother is streaming below.
