Atmosphere to play Boston in April

Hip hop group Atmosphere will hit the road this spring in support of their forthcoming album, The Family Sign. The Minnesota based duo of Rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and DJ/Producer Ant (Anthony Davis) will play Boston’s House of Blues on Saturday, April 23. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $20 and $30. Rounding out the bill are Blueprint, Grieves with Budo, Sab the Artist and DJ Abilities.

Atmosphere’s sixth full length album, The Family Sign, will drop in stores on April 12 via the band’s own label, Rhymesayers Entertainment. As the title would suggest, the ablum explores familial relationships and is said to be Atmosphere’s most personal and intimate album yet. On the new album, Slug and Ant are complimented by keyboardist Erick Anderson and guitarist Nate Collis. The video for the The Family Sign’s lead single “Just For Show” is streaming below.

The Family Sign follows 2008’s When Live Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, which debuted at #5 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 36,000 copies in its first week and was the highest charting release from the independent label Rhymesayers.
