Art Garfunkel will return to the road this fall to promote the release of his forthcoming greatest hits compilation, The Singer. He’ll make a handful of stops in New England, including Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on Thursday, September 20. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $39 to $79, are now on sale through Ticketmaster.

The Singer, a 34-song collection of songs hand-picked by the Garfunkel himself, will be released on August 28. The two-disc set features material from the first Simon & Garfunkel album of 1964’s Wednesday Morning, 3 AM through his latest solo release, 2007’s Great American Songbook. The set also includes a pair of newly recorded performances in “Lena” and “Long Way Home”. In addition to curating The Singer, Garfunkel provides his own personal track-by-track annotations, which appear in the booklet in his handwritten form.

Following the show in Boston, Garfunkel will make his way north to New Hampshire for a performance at The Music Hall in Portsmouth on Friday, September 21. Tickets for the show are now on sale though the venue’s box office and website for $62 an $68.

Garfunkel also has a pair of shows scheduled in Connecticut with shows scheduled for Hartford’s Bushnell Theatre on September 6 and the Ridgefield Playhouse on September 7.
