Arcade Fire has announced plans for their first headlining tour in 3 years as they get ready to support their forthcoming album The Suburbs. The band make their way to Massachusetts on Sunday, August 1 for a night at the Bank of American Pavilion in Boston. Tickets for the show, which range from $37 to $42, go on sale Friday at 10 am through Live Nation. The band has pledged to donate $1 from every ticket to Partners In Health, a Boston-based non-profit organization that helps impoverished communities around the world combat disease and poverty.

The indie rock favorites from Montreal will release their highly anticipated third album, The Suburbs, on August 3. The album was written, arranged, performed and produced by the Arcade Fire and co-produced by Markus Davis. The Suburbs follows 2007’s Neon Bible, which was critically acclaimed and found its way on to several end of the year lists for 2007. In addition, a double A side, limited edition 12″ was recently released to independence record stores and will feature the tracks “The Suburbs” and “Month of May”. For those who pre-order the new album through the band’s official website, both songs will be available for immediate download.
