Animal Collective map spring tour with Dan Deacon

Animal Collective have revealed plans to return to the road in support of their new album, Centipede Hz. Joined by special guest Dan Deacon, the indie rock favorites will hit Massachusetts for a show at Boston’s House of Blues on Thursday, March 7. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $25 and $35.

Centipede Hz, Animal Collective’s ninth studio effort and follow-up to 2009’s Merriweather Post Pavilion, debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200 after its release in September. It marks their first album since 2007’s Strawberry Jam to feature all four original band members: Avey Tare (David Portner), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Geologist (Brian Weitz) and Deakin (Josh Dibb). Co-produced by Animal Collective and Ben H. Allen III, the album was recorded at Sonic Ranch studios in Tornillo, Texas.

Fellow Baltimore native and labelmate Dan Deacon will be touring in support of his latest release, 2012’s America. Deacon Deacon will be joined on stage by drummers Jeremy Hyman and Kevin O’Meara, as well as America producer Chester Endersby Gwazda on electronics. fans are encourage to download Deacon’s new interactive concert app, which without the use of wi-fi or cellular data, turns each phone into a source of synchronized light and sound depending on your location within each venue.
