American Idol tour to make multiple New England stops

The top contestants from this season of American Idol will hit the road later this year for the annual “American Idols Live!” tour. The summer outing will hit 45 cities across North America including six stops in New England.

The American Idol will swing through Massachusetts for a show at the DCU Center in Worcester on Thursday, September 1. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $43 to $63, will go on sale today at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Also going on sale will be the other New England shows: Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut (August 25), Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island (August 27), Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine (August 30), Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire (August 31) and Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut (September 3).

The tour will feature the top 11 contestants from this year’s season of the hit Fox TV series: Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, Naima Adedapo, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, Scotty McCreery, Stefano Langone, and Thia Megia.

American Idol, which is now in its tenth season and remains the #1 rated show in America, will come to a close on May 26. Who will be battling for the crown has yet to be determined. Last night, Durbin was eliminated from the competition, leaving Reinhart, Alaina and McCreery as the final three contestants battling for the crown of American Idol champion.
