Alice in Chains have revealed plans for their 2010 world tour, which will make its way to Boston on Sunday, March 14. The grunge rockers, who rocked the intimate confines of the Paradise Rock Club earlier this year, will return next year to perform at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $39.50 to $45, go on sale Saturday morning at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

The band is touring in support of the brand new album, Black Gives Way to Blue, which hit stores at the end of September. The album is the band’s fourth studio effort and first since their 1996 self-titled album. Black Gives Way to Blue marks the recording debut of vocalist William DuVall, who took over on vocals during the Alice In Chains’ 2006 reunion tour after original frontman Layne Staley died of a drug overdose in 2002. Guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez reunited in 2005 at a benefit for victims of the tsunami in Indonesia. They began touring with DuVall the following year.
