Staind frontman Aaron Lewis will perform a very special benefit concert next month in Western Massachusetts for his brand new foundation, It Takes A Community Foundation. The show is scheduled to take place at the Pines Theatre at Look Park in Florence on Saturday, August 14. Lewis will be joined at the show by a number of very special friends for acoustic performances, including Brad Arnold and Chris Henderson of 3 Doors Down, Shaun Morgan (of Seether), Lo-Pro and Brendan Kelly. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Ticketmaster for $47 (general admission lawn) and $77 (reserved seating).

The It Takes A Community Foundation was founded by Lewis and his wife Vanessa with a focus on reviving rural communities throughout the greater New England area. The charity works with local leaders and community organizations that have firsthand knowledge of the needs of their communities. It strives to raise funds and support these community groups who strengthen, engage and enrich the communities they are in, sustain diminishing public services and provide assistance to communities in crisis.

“My family has been directly affected by school closures in our rural area due to state budget cuts,” said Lewis in a press release. “We have seen firsthand the necessity for smaller communities to have a voice and to determine their own local needs and priorities. Our foundation strives to do just that — to build a collective of local community members and empower them to take charge of their own community’s future.”

For its initial launch, ITAC’s goal is to raise funds in support of the Community Education Center in Worthington, Massachusetts. Funds raised will help open the school’s doors and provide a seamless transition from a district run facility to a community school.

The foundation is also hosting an online auction with special VIP tickets for the show and a host of rock and roll memorabilia including autographed items from Slash, Ray Lamontagne, Linkin Park and more. Check it out here.

In other news, Lewis is currently appearing on the new season of Drury Outdoors’ popular Outdoor Channel series, Celebrity Dream Season. An avowed outdoorsman, Lewis is participating to help raise funds for the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, which grants once-in-a-lifetime hunting and fishing experiences to children with life-threatening illnesses.
