311 have revealed plans to return to the road this summer for their annual summer outing. Joining them for the latest edition of the “Unity” tour will be special guests Slightly Stoopid, as well as openers SOJA. The road warriors will return to Massachusetts for a performance at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Saturday, August 4. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $20 to $49.50, will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

“Summer Unity in full effect!” declared 311 vocalist/guitarist Nick Hexum in a press release. “We’re really excited that Slightly Stoopid is on the 2012 Unity Tour. 311 & Slightly Stoopid seems like a perfect outdoor summer party. Can’t wait to see you all at the shows!”

311 continue to tour in support of their latest album, 2011’s Universal Pulse. Released last July, the Omaha-based rockers’ tenth studio effort debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on Billboard’s Rock Albums chart. With only eight songs to its name, the record barely makes the cut as a full-length album versus a shorter EP. Produced by Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica), Universal Pulse features singles “Sunset in July” and “Count Me In”.

Fans of Slightly Stoopid can probably expect to hear a set of greatest hits and crowd favorites as the band is not touring in support of any new material. Their last offering of new songs was 2008’s Slightly Not Stoned Enough To Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid.
