30 Seconds To Mars will return to the road this spring for a brief tour that will include a stop in Massachusetts. The California-based rockers will play the Agganis Arena in Boston on Sunday, May 1. Tickets for the show, which are priced at $29.50 and $35, will go on sale Friday at noon through Live Nation.

The band continues to tour in support of their third album This Is War, which was released in December of 2009. Powered by hit singles “Kings and Queens”, “This Is War” and “Closer to the Edge”, This Is War has raised 30 Seconds to Mars’ global profile to a new level. The band won their second MTV VMA award in November when they picked up the 2010 VMA for Best Rock Video for “Kings and Queens”. They also won their fourth MTV EMA award in 2010 for Best Rock Band and their fourth Kerrang! Award as winner of the 2010 Best International Band. This Is War has sold over 1 million albums world-wide and has been certified gold in six different countries including Germany, South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Australia and double gold in the United Kingdom.

Led by actor Jared Leto (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, songwriter), the band is also comprised of Shannon Leto (drums, percussion), Tomo Milicevic (lead guitar, keyboards), Tim Kelleher (bass) and Braxton Olita (keyboards). 30 Seconds To Mars will play “Closer to the Edge” for the first time live on U.S. television on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on February 18, followed by a performance on Lopez Tonight on February 22.
