New Orleans legends make plans for Boston

The Neville Brothers and Dr. John & The Lower 911, two of New Orleans’ best, have made plans for a summer outing. The "Mardi Gras Mambo" tour will makes it way north to Boston for a show at the House of Blues on Friday, August 28. Tickets are $35 and now on sale through Ticketmaster.

The Neville Brothers, referred to many as New Orleans’ First Family of Funk, are continuing to support 2004’s Walkin’ In The Shadow Of Life, which ended the band’s five-year hiatus from recording. The album features the classic Nevilles lineup of Aaron Neville (vocals, percussion), Art Neville (vocals, organ, keys), Cyril Neville (vocals, percussion) and Charles Neville (vocals, tenor sax, flute) along with Aaron’s son Ivan Neville and Art’s son Ian on guitar.

Dr. John & The Lower 911 released The City That Care Forgot last summer. The post-Katrina fueled album features guest appearances by Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Terence Blanchard, Ani DiFranco, and Terrance Simien.
