It’s that time of year again. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have revealed plans for the twelfth edition of their annual Hometown Throwdown. After two years at the Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge, the band will now return to Lansdowne and take on the new House of Blues for three nights. The shows are scheduled to begin after Christmas from Saturday, December 26 though Monday, December 28. Tickets for the shows are $25 and go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

No support acts have been announced yet, though in a message to fans on their website, the band says, “This year’s Throwdown is shaping up to be something special as we’ll be joined by past Throwdown heroes and hometown zeros alike. Please check back for details.”

The band is readying the release of their forthcoming album, Pin Points and Gin Joints. The album is scheduled to drop in stores on December 8, though fans can download one new song – “Graffiti Worth Reading” – for free by signing up for the band’s mailing list (which will also give access to a pre-sale for Hometown Throwdown tickets). The album will mark the band’s first full full-length album of all new material since 2002’s A Jackknife to a Swan. Pin Points and Gin Joints was recorded┬áthis past summer with producer Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, The Bouncing Souls).

In related news, the band’s 1997 smash hit “The Impression That I Get” will appear on the forthcoming Band Hero video game.
