Both English rock bands were scheduled to perform at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club but have cited health reasons for the cancellations. Refunds for both shows are available at the point of purchase,

Maximo Park were scheduled to perform at the Paradise on Sunday, September 20. The band released their third album, Quicken the Heart, last May. They were forced to cancel the tour due to an unspecified illness within the band. In a hand written statement on their website, the band stated, “We’ve always enjoyed visiting North America in the past and are bitterly disappointed to be missing out this time. When we return, it’ll be with as much energy and passion as ever.”

The Charlatans UK were scheduled to perform at the Paradise on Friday, September 25. The band had planned on promoting their tenth album ,2008’s You Cross My Path. However, doctors told the band that the tour would cause “severe damage to ligaments in the affected area” of drummer Jon Brookes’ longstanding injured shoulder. Instead, he will start a course of treatment next month to rectify the condition.
