Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs team up for new album, tour

Rocker Matthew Sweet and The Bangles singer Susanna Hoffs have teamed up again to release a new album, Under The Covers Vol. 2. The duo otherwise known as “Sid & Susie” will hit the road this fall to support the new release with a stop at the Regent Theatre in Arlington scheduled for Friday, November 13. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25 to $35, are now on sale and can be purchased at the Regent Theatre box office, by phone at 781-646-4849, or online at www.regenttheatre.com.

Under the Covers, Vol. 2 is the second collaborative release from Sweet and Hoffs. The two fist teamed up in 2006 to release Under the Covers, Vol. 1. Much like its predecessor, the new album is comprised of 16 cover versions of their favorite songs. While Vol. 1 focused on the 1960s, Vol. 2 focused on the 1970s. Among the covers on Vol. 2 are Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” Rod Stewart’s “Maggie May,”John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth,” Derek & The Dominoes’ “Bell Bottom Blues,” The Grateful Dead’s “Sugar Magnolia” and& Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers’ “Here Comes My Girl.” The deluxe edition contains a bonus disc with ten extra songs.

At the show in Arlington, Sweet and Hoffs are expected to perform songs from both albums, as well as their respective catalogues.
