Rumble Update: The Rationales, Garvy J & Ghosts of Jupiter win opening nights

The 33rd edition of Boston’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble kicked off on Sunday at TT the Bear’s Place. The preliminary rounds continued through last night, will break for the traditional night of rest tonight and the continue tomorrow through Saturday. The Rationales, Garvy J and Ghosts of Jupiter have each booked a spot in the semi-finals with wins in the opening three nights.

The Rationales won Night #1 over Endless Wave and Cooling Towers after The Grownup Noise had to drop out at the last minute. Garvy J. edged out Thick Shakes, Animal Talk and Grey Valley Ghost on Night #2, while Ghosts of Jupiter won Night #3 over The Susan Constant, The Tin Thistles and Letterday.

After a break tonight, the Rumble will continue on tomorrow for Night #4 featuring Cask Mouse, Never Got Caught, Parlour Bells and The Fagettes. Pray For Polanski, BrownBoot, Bow Thayer & Perfect Trainwreck and The Bynars will perform on Friday before The Grinds, Sherman Burns, Motherboar and Streight Angular close out the preliminary rounds on Saturday.

The winners from each night, along with a pair of Wild Card selections, will move on to the semi-final round on Thursday, April 12 and Friday, April 13. The finals will take place on Friday, April 20.

Tickets for each of the shows are now on sale through TicketWeb with a variety of packages available. Single-night tickets are priced at $8 for the preliminary rounds, $10 for the semi-finals and $12 for the finals.
