Joe Perry to celebrate album release at the House of Blues

After rocking warm-up shows at Plymouth Memorial Hall and the Fusion 5 nightclub in Foxboro, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced plans for a proper celebration for the release of his new solo album, Have Guitar Will Travel. Perry and his band will rock Boston’s House of Blues on Saturday, November 14. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and are priced at $29.50 and $39.50.

Have Guitar Will Travel, which earned its name though a Twitter contest, is Perry’s fifth solo album. Recorded this past spring at the BoneYard, Perry’s state-of-the-art home studio, where Aerosmith’s Honkin’ On Bobo and Just Push Play were recorded, Have Guitar, Will Travel is a ten-song album written and produced by Perry. The new album showcases the voice of a young German singer known as Hagen, found by chance on YouTube by Joe’s wife Billie. Hagen mans the microphone for five tracks, while Perry sings lead on four. The remaining tenth song is an instrumental entitled “Wooden Ships.” Have Guitar Will Travel features a variety of guest musicians including drummer Ben Tileston, who plays drums with two of Perry’s sons in TAB The Band.

Perry will also perform at New Hampshire’s Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on Friday, November 13. Tickets are now on sale for $26 through Ticketmaster.
