Isis will team up with The Melvins for a co-headlining summer tour that will hit Boston in June. The post-metal rockers and grunge legends will each perform at the Paradise Rock Club on Sunday, June 20 and Monday, June 21. The Melvins will headline the first show while Isis will headline the second. Opening both shows will be Totimoshi. Tickets are now on sale through Live Nation for $18.

The Melvins will be touring in support of their forthcoming album, The Bride Screamed Murder, which is scheduled to git stores on June 1. Often described as the godfathers of grunge music, the Seattle band formed in the early 80’s and went on to influence a number of bands from Nirvana to Soundgarden. Their last studio album was 2008’s Nude with Boots.

Boston-bred/Los Angeles-based rockers Isis will return to the hub to support last year’s Wavering Radiant. The album, the band’s fifth studio effort, was released last April and follows 2006′ In the Absence of Truth. Produced by Joe Barresi (The Melvins, Queens of the Stone Age), Wavering Radiant also features guitarist Adam Jones of Tool on two tracks.

In conjunction with their tour, Hydra Head records is putting out a split 7” with the Melvins and Isis.
