How did you form?
After winning New Hampshire Idol in 2006 I began working with Jimmy Landry, owner, producer, and songwriter of AudioStrike Records in New York City who informed me it was time to find members that would bring the project together. I recently began full auditions for members in the local Boston area and found some amazing artist/musicians through Berklee School of Music. With the help of my friend Eric (lead guitarist), we held auditions having each musician play specific songs off the album to show us there talents and ability to make a song their own.
Who are some of your influences?
My influences range from Billy Joel, to Chris Daughtry all the way back to bands like Styx and Pink Floyd. Classical rock has always been a favorite of mine; I get that influence from my father a music lover himself.
Finish the sentence, someone would like your band if they like…..
….artists from Billy Idol, 3doors Down, to Chris Daughtry, or even Edwin McCain.
What has your most memorable moment as a band been?
I have to say that the most memorable moment in my music career was winning New Hampshire Idol. It sounds like just a country fair and nothing to make noise about, but it was the day I knew my music career really had begun. The fact that I had left everything in New York City to move home hoping to “find myself” again, and have it fall into my lap was something I will never forget! I’ve always believed if you are born for something, home is where your story begins…
Walk us through your songwriting process.
My song writing process is about as spastic and passionate as my day to day energy and life. You never know when it’s going to hit but when it does…passion, baby, passion all the way! My songs tend to also begin through sharing my story with new friends and people I met along the way and seeing that their story is just the same as mine.
Who is the best musician in your band?
I have many amazing musicians behind me and each and every one is as significant as the other, but commitment and dedication to our band, and shows runs deepest with myself and Eric Jackson my right-hand man who has been with me since the NH Idol days.
What is your favorite local venue?
Well being new to Boston and the venues and this only being my third show, I am going to have go with the Hard Rock Cafe! Their commitment to their performers and sound quality is impeccable. The stage screams energy every time you step up to that mic!
What separates you from other local bands?
I recently performed at Copperfield’s in Fenway and a new fan came up to me after the show and said something to me I don’t think I will ever forget. His words were “Jacob you are an artist that is not just here. You will make waves in this world.” My band and myself take you deeper than just the song, I make sure you feel every ounce of emotions, passion and love for what I do while I am on that stage! I take you with me on a journey you will never forget!
