Fountains of Wayne will kick off the New England segment of their fall tour with a performance at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on Friday, October 8. Tickets for the 18+ show are now on sale through Live Nation for $20. Singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw will serve as the opening act.

The New York-based power-pop act will play also play Pearl Street in Northampton, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 9, the Met Cafe in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on Wednesday, October 13 and the Port City Music Hall in Portland, Maine on Thursday, October 14.

After the band hinted at a 2010 release for a new album last year, information has been scarce. While fans hope to avoid the lengthy wait between the band’s third and fourth albums (Welcome Interstate Managers was released in 2003 and Traffic and Weather in 2007), the most recent activity from the Fountains of Wayne camp has been guitarist Jody Porter, who released his solo debut album, Close to the Sun, in May. Bassist Adam Schlesinger spent much of 2009 with Tinted Windows, a supergroup he formed with singer Taylor Hanson of Hanson, Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, and guitarist James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins.
