How did you form/start?

Geoff and I went to high school together and decided to move to Los Angeles in 2007. We both went to school in LA and made music in our apartment for a while. Years later we really wanted to get a band together and play shows.

Finish the sentence, someone would like your band if they like…

… to picture James Brown laughing and saying “hey!” in their head.

What song of yours should people listen to first and why?

Hmm….I’m gonna say “Videolove” but, I want to say “Nothing but Animals”. Sorry I hope it’s ok I said two! “Videolove” contains a lot of sampling and gives people a good idea of the rhythms we like.

Walk us through your songwriting process.

We create brainchildren at home or in our rehearsal space. Sometimes together and sometimes separately. A lot of the time we make demos in Logic and show them to each other when we have a concrete idea or song.

Tell us a little bit about your latest album.

It was a lot of fun to make! We turned a friend’s grandmother’s house into a studio and recorded it over two weekends. I can’t wait to write the next record!

What has your most memorable moment as a band been?

I’d say getting signed to Kill Rock Stars. Without them we wouldn’t be where we are now.

What has been the hardest part of building your name onto the national level?

Working our way up the Google ladder.

Who are the best bands from your hometown that we might not know about?

Incan Abraham, Body Parts, James Supercave

What band would you most like to open for?

The Talking Heads

Who is your all-time favorite Boston band?

Mighty Mighty Bosstones!

What are your thoughts on playing Boston?

We played at Great Scott but, maybe that’s technically not Boston? I’m all about Good Will Hunting though.

What can people expect from your live show and why should our readers catch your next stop in Boston?

We like to dance a lot and our drummer is really cute.
