Breakers in the Spotlight: Katie Schoepfer

, Staff

In this week’s edition of Athletes in the Spotlight, Boston Music Spotlight talks with Boston Breakers midfielder Katie Schoepfer. The Connecticut native and Penn State University product is in her first year with the Breakers, who are currently 4-8-4 and will take on magicJack this weekend.

Boston Music Spotlight: What do you like to listen to before a game?

Katie Schoepfer (KS): Anything that I can dance to. I’m not too picky.

BMS: Do you have any musical talents (or do you prefer Rock Band/Guitar Hero)? And if your were in a band, what would your band name be?

KS: I am a Rock Band superstar. If I had a band it would be named “LysShep” to combine mine and my preferred Rock Band drummer Alyssa Naeher’s nicknames.

BMS: Which of your teammates has the best taste in music? What about the worst?

KS: Niki Cross has definitely introduced me to a lot of new music that I really like, and Alex Scott usually takes care of the music in the locker room, and I have no complaints there. I really like almost all music, so I really haven’t found anyone with bad taste in music, just different tastes.

BMS: What was the first concert you attended?

KS: Gwen Stefani, 3rd row at Mohegan Sun.

BMS: Any concerts you have enjoyed recently or are excited to be attending soon?

KS: The Clam Bake in downtown Boston.

Schoepfer and the Boston Breakers will host magicJack at Harvard Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets for the match start at $15 and can be purchased at
