Breakers in the Spotlight: Elli Reed

, Staff

In this week’s edition of Athletes in the Spotlight, Boston Music Spotlight talks with Boston Breakers defender Elli Reed. The Utah native and University of Portland product is in her first year with the Breakers, who are currently 2-5-1 and will take on magicJack this weekend.

Boston Music Spotlight (BMS): What do you like to listen to before a game?

Elli Reed (ER): “Super Bass” by Nicki Minaj, “Hip Hop Saved My Life” by Lupe Fiasco, “Up All Night” by Drake & Nicki Minaj

BMS: Do you have any musical talents (or do you prefer Rock Band/Guitar Hero)? And if your were in a band, what would your band name be?

ER: Well I played the trumpet from 5th to 8th grade and wasn’t too shabby at it. Unfortunately, that musical talent is long gone.

BMS: Which of your teammates has the best taste in music? What about the worst?

ER: I would have to say Alex Scott has good taste in music. She has a good variety. And let’s just say that Niki Cross and I don’t see eye to eye with music.

BMS: What was the first concert you attended?

ER: First concert I attended was Britney Spears at the Utah State Fair!

BMS: Any concerts you have enjoyed recently or are excited to be attending soon?

ER: I haven’t been to many concerts recently, but would love to go to some!

Reed and the Boston Breakers will host magicJack at Harvard Stadium on Sunday at 6 p.m. The game will be televised live on Fox Soccer Channel. Tickets for the match start at $15 and can be purchased at
