Chameleons frontman to play Hennessey’s tonight

Mark Burgess, frontman for 80’s post-punk heroes The Chameleons, will play a rare and intimate show at Hennessy’s Hooley House (upstairs room) tonight. Burgess will be backed by Worcester rockers The Curtain Society. The show will also feature locals Aaron Perrino of Dear Leader, Lifestyle, Shawn Saindon and Ryan Dolan of Hiss & Chambers, and David Jackel of The Daily Pravda. Tickets for the show are $10 and will be available at the door.

The Chameleons formed in Manchester, England in 1981 and went on to release three highly influential albums. Throughout the 90’s Burgess released a wealth of solo material before reunting with his old bandmates in 2000. They released another three albums before parting ways again in 2003. Most recently, Burgess has been working as a member of Black Swan Lane, who released their sophomore album The Sun and the Moon Sessions in June.

On his MySpace page, Burgess says, "Well it seems that I’m going to be joined by The Curtain Society, a fine band who I know, so that’s great, so I’ll be playing with a band and the set-list is looking pretty damn interesting. I’m REALLY looking forward to that. Hope to see you there if you can make it."
