Boys Like Girls move Suffolk Downs show

, Staff

Boys Like Girls were scheduled to rock a homecoming show Friday night at the Suffolk Downs racetrack in East Boston. However, "due to matters out of BLG’s control," the show has been moved two hours west to Six Flags New England in Agawam. Fans that have already purchased tickets for Suffolk Downs need to have their ticket refunded at the point of purchase. The Six Flags show will be free with admission to the amusement park, which is $31 in advance or $41.99 at the gate.

The show is part of the “mtvU Sunblock Music Festival" and will also feature co-headliners Gym Class Heroes along with sets from The Veronicas and NeverShoutNever!. The tour will also stop at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire with a bonus set from The Academy Is on Saturday.

Boys Like Girls have spent most of 2009 recording their sophomore album with sessions in Vancouver and New York City. No release date has been revealed, but its expected to hit stores later this summer. Last fall, the band released a live CD/DVD Read Between The Lines. After its release, we caught up with lead guitarist Paul DiGiovanni to discuss the band’s rise to fame over the past couple of years.
