Boston Music Spotlight, the region’s leading source for music news and concert information, is pleased to announce plans for the company’s holiday concert benefiting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

The benefit concert will take place on Thursday, December 3 at Hennessy’s Hooley House and will feature Boston bands Cassavettes, Shadwell, Three Day Threshold and Taste. All proceeds will be donated to the national Marine Toys for Tots Foundation benefiting needy children in the Greater Boston area this holiday season. Tickets for the 21+ show are $10 or $5 with an unwrapped toy and can be purchased in advance online at TicketLeap.com. Live Nation and Straight Stitch Custom Embroidery & Silkscreen will co-sponsor the benefit concert.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to give back to the local community during the Holiday season by hosting this benefit concert for the Toys For Tots foundation,” said Boston Music Spotlight President & Editor-in-Chief Rory Flynn. “Unfortunately during this time of year, many underprivileged children feel left out and fail to experience the magic of the holiday season. Toys For Tots fills that void and gives every child what they deserve. We’re glad to be able to play a small part in that this year and hope to see a big crowd at Hennessy’s on December 3 for what will surely be an awesome night of music for an even better cause.”

Performing at BMS’ Toys For Tots benefit concert will be four of the city’s top rising bands. Named Best Local Band in the 2006 Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll, Cassavettes recently celebrated the release of their second full-length album, Shake Down The Sun. In September, Shadwell won the 2009 BMS Battle of the Bands and are currently working on their first full length album. Veterans of the local music scene, America favorites Three Day Threshold are gearing up for the release of their next album, which is due in January. Rising stars in the college scene, Taste have been winning over fans across the city by delivering impressive live performances including their set at the 2009 BMS Battle of the Bands.

All those in attendance will be eligible for door prizes that include tickets to select concerts from Live Nation including: The Script at the House of Blues on December 4, The Wood Brothers at the Paradise Rock Club on December 8, Clutch at the House of Blues on December 30, Mission of Burma at the Paradise Rock Club on January 16 and “Rodfest 8” concert at the Paradise Rock Club on January 30. BMS t-shirts from Straight Stitch Custom Embroidery & Silkscreen will also be giving away.

Additionally, Hennessy’s will provide light appetisers for guests.
