Bon Jovi reveal plans for 2010 world tour

New Jersey’s Bon Jovi have revealed plans for the 2010 world tour in support of their forthcoming album, The Circle. As part of “The Circle World Tour,” the band will rock Gillette Stadium in Foxboro next summer. The show is scheduled for July 24, though no further details including ticket information has been released.

The band made the announcement last Thursday with a press conference and brief concert in front of New Jersey’s New Meadowlands Stadium, which they will have the honor of opening for the very first time on May 26 and 27. Tickets for those shows will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Bon Jovi will spend much of the next two years on the road, performing 135 shows in 30 countries, in support of their forthcoming album, The Circle. The new album, their eleventh studio effort, drops in stores on November 10. Produced by John Shanks, The Circle is said to be more of a return to their rock roots after their country-fused 2007 album Lost Highway. In related news, Bon Jovi has signed a “Artist in Residence” partnership with NBC Universal. As part of the promotional deal, the band will exclusively promote The Circle cross the company’s multiple brands for the month of November. During the month, the band will appear live on the “Today show” every Wednesday before closing out the run with a concert performance on the NBC plaza on November 25. The band is also scheduled too appear on Bravo’s “Inside the Actors’ Studio” and material from The Circle will be heavily integrated throughout NBC’s network and cable programming.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi will be the subject of a “USA Character Showcase,” which will highlight Jon as both an artist and philanthropist in an on-air and on-line campaign. On December 2, he will be a featured panelist at the USA Network and Tom Brokaw-sponsored “Characters Unite National Town Hall” event in Washington D.C., which will focus on overcoming social injustices. Additionally, Jon will also be featured on NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams, as well as in the company’s award-winning public service campaign “The More You Know” with spots running on NBCU’s cable and broadcast networks.
