Amanda Palmer will join Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops to ring in the New Year at Symphony Hall on Thursday, December 31. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $80 to $160, are now on sale through the Symphony Hall box office, by phone at 888-266-1200 and online at All concert-goers will be treated to a gourmet boxed dinner.
Palmer won rave reviews after her performance with the Boston Pops last summer, as part of the Boston Pops’s EdgeFest. She continues to support her Ben Folds-produced debut album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, and is expected to play material from that, as well as selections from her punk cabaret group The Dresden Dolls and more. Before Palmer takes the stage at 10 p.m., a variety of other performers will be taking over the various side ballrooms at Symphony Hall. Palmer plans on announcing those performers and an array of special guests over the next few months.
As a result of the New Year’s Eve show, Palmer has cancelled her show at the House of Blues scheduled for Saturday, November 14. Those tickets never went on sale to the general public but a small allotment were sold through a fanclub pre-sale. If you are in the group of 200 who had their House of Blues tickets refunded, Palmer is asking that you forward your receipt to A list of those names on hand at the Pops box office, where they can then be guaranteed seats at the New Year’s Eve show (even if the show sells out) in the best spot of the fan’s chosen price section as long as they grab the tickets before November 1 (after that, they will be released to the general public).
